Mersin, Cesmeli and Liparis3 in Turkey
Mersin is situated in South - Turkey, east of the popular region between Antalya and Alanya. Mersin is a bathing resort where a lot of Turkish people come. There it is still authentic Turkish and cheaper than the other bathing resorts. There are a lot of monumental fortresses to visit, you can enjoy the mountains or one of the superb beaches. Moreover Mersin has the longest summer season of whole Turkey. Mersin is a large city, but still unknown for most of the Western tourists. The road between Mersin and Alanya has been broadened and now offers a good connection between these two places and a 500 km long coast. In the summer Turkish shipping societies offer regulated ferry services which strike all harbours of all important holiday places until Istanbul.
The Eastern mediterranean coast is much less densely populated than the western piece, but has just as varied interests. For that purpose Göksu-delta belong, 
a paradise for birdwatchers, different castles of armanians and cross knights, the important Hettitian curiosity Karatepe and boat excursions along the beautiful coast line or to the splendid island Cyprus. The region has also an unmistakable Middle East environment: how further towards the east, the fairs grow more colorful and the food gets more spicy.
The fourth large city of Turkey, Adana is the centre of the area and has a subtropical climate with very mild winters. Mersin is a port city with a new breathtaking boulevard along the coast. From Mersin you can take the ferry boat to Cyprus.
There is a lot you can do in Mersin. You can go to disco's, numerous good typical restaurants and Turkish coffee houses.
Tourism at the Turkish Rivièra has developed fast the past 10-15 years. Small, formerly futile bathing places, have in some years developed into large bathing resorts. Now this is also happening in Cesmeli and Mersin. Large all-inclusive complexes such as the splendid "LIPARIS 3" arise here and along the beautiful Turkish coast. This relatively new bathing resort set up in, the number of accommodations will increase thus just like in the other bathing resorts. Tourism is one of the most important income sources in the region.
The Turkish Rivièra has mediterranean climate. Summers are very warm and dry, the Taurus-mountain range ensures that the winter-cold and northern winds have no influence on the climate near the coast.
The travel period is as from Easter up to and including October. The high season is in the months July and August. Also in the winter months this destination starts to gain tourists because of the very mild climate.
Flights from Belgium, The Netherlands or Germany can by means of the airport of Adana and within some years also propably by means of the new airport of Mersin.
